Groundworks proceed to form the 'wheel pit' and place the reinforcement for the floorslab, all of which is tied to the re-bars left protruding from the top of the reinforced concrete piles, following which the retaining walls are cast to hold back the original earthwork dam to the mill pond, along with the enclosing walls to the 'wheel pit' to allow the early installation of the new water wheel.
